CALCCIMA: Calabar Chamber Elects New Executive Council, Kelly Ayamba Emerges President

Calabar –The Calabar Chamber of Commerce, Industry, Mines and Agriculture Ltd/GTE (CALCCIMA) has elected a new Executive Council to pilot its affairs for the 2025–2027 term NEGROIDHAVEN has garnered.

At the chamber’s Annual General Meeting (AGM) held on Tuesday, Mr. Kelly Ayamba, FCA, Managing Partner at Ayamba and Radiance & Co., was elected as President, while media and business leader Mr. Patrick Ugbe, CEO of HitFM and Athman Nig. Ltd., emerged as Deputy President.

The well-attended election was conducted under the supervision of respected industry leaders, including Chief Bassey Edem, a Past National President of the Nigerian Association of Chambers of Commerce, Industry, Mines and Agriculture (NACCIMA), with support from Mr. P.K. Bello, NVP, and Dr. (Mrs.) Margaret Ndoma-Egba, a past NVP.

A significant outcome of the election was the emergence of four female Vice Presidents, reflecting CALCCIMA’s growing commitment to gender balance and inclusion in leadership.

The newly elected Vice Presidents and officers are:

* Rt. Hon. John Gaul Lebo – VP, Development Law & Intergovernmental Affairs

* Mr. Liyel Imoukhuede – VP, Business Development, SMEs & Logistics

* Dr. Annie Iton – VP, Maritime, Logistics & Brightflow Ltd

* Miss Christabel Agara – VP, Manufacturing & Industry (AA Universal Ltd)

* Mrs. Justina Ovat – VP, Tourism & Hospitality (Calabar Hospitality House)

* Mr. Akabom-Ita Enebong – VP, Oil & Gas (One Gas Up)

* Mr. Thompson Eja – VP, Free Trade Zones, Tinapa & EPZ

* Amb. Christabel Ndubuisi – VP, Agriculture & Agro-Allied (Greenchild Industries)

* Mr. Charles Itue – VP, Services (CLS PONGAS).

Other key officers elected include:

* Mr. Orok-Oyo Enebong – PRO & Membership Services

* Mr. Appanke Ogar – Treasurer (OKI and Preaches Ltd)

* Barr. Wilfred Usani – Legal Adviser (Ethnos & Mackel Ltd).

Newly elected President Mr. Ayamba expressed his gratitude and pledged to build a chamber that will drive economic growth, empower SMEs, and strengthen business collaboration across Cross River State.

“This executive council will be a bridge between business and policy, a voice for the private sector, and a platform for inclusive economic development,” Ayamba said after the election.

Stakeholders at the AGM lauded the diversity, professionalism, and industry expertise represented in the new council and expressed optimism about the chamber’s future trajectory.

CALCCIMA is a member of NACCIMA and serves as the foremost organized private sector institution representing business interests in Calabar and the Cross River industrial corridor.
