The Member representing Ogoja State Constituency in the Cross River State House of Assembly, Hon Peter Odey, has pledged his support towards the establishment of a Water Front Infrastructure Management Agency in the State.
He pledged his support on a bill sponsored by the Deputy Speaker of the House , Rt. Hon Joseph Bassey during the House plenary .
He said, "I rise to lend my voice to this very important bill before us today. We can not over emphasize the importance of this bill because this is a bill of necessity to the good people of Cross River State. It will create employment opportunities for our People and also curb crime amongst our teeming youths in the State. It is also worthy of note that nations and empires developed are properly harnessed".
He further said if the Agency is established it will be of great benefit to the People of the State in terms of the economic fronts as it regards neighboring countries that border the State.
Hon Odey also said on establishment, the Agency will check mate the porous nature of our inland water ways by curbing illegal and nefarious activities along the water ways of the State.
He further called on his colleagues to lend their support for the smooth passage of the bill to see the light of day.
