In respect to the recent protest of a resurgent group nicknamed as the pro-Biafrans, who raised an uproar in Port Harcourt last Tuesday demanding for the break away from Nigeria. And about whom the South East Governors and leaders unanimously dissociated themselves from and denied publicly, the former Head of State, Gen. Yakubu Gowon argues that such a supposed sect is to His mind, no threat to the peace, unity and progress which exist in Nigeria.

According to reports from our source , the retired General told Channels TV on Friday during his visit to Nasarawa State.

He argued that it was in the interest of peace and unity that the popular phrase,  "No Victor, No Vanquished" was couched and adopted as it became the chorus of all and sundry immediately after the war.

He however admonished that all those who are attempting to resurrect such divide under the canopy of Biafra should desist from such act and have a rethink as that will not take us anywhere.

He counselled that we should 'let the sleeping dog lie' and not to try to expose an old injury.

In the same vein he avers that the Igbo's are a peace loving tribe and therefore all those who are attempting to soil their good name are doing such to their own detriment.

For him "There is no threat. If there is any problem like that, just like Boko Haram, Nigeria should deal with it in a mature way. I even wish I could meet some of those young people as a soldier too".
He added that:

"I hope and pray to God that it is only a minute few that are there and that the majority of Igbos are not with them in that group."

"what I saw was true and that's what my old colleague, Ojukwu saw. It is not because of hatred nor hard feelings, that is the reason why at the end of the war, the expression : No victor, no Vanquished ' was adopted.

Commenting on the foregoing we are tempted to ask : Is it the case that the alleged Biafra sect is indeed no threat to our National unity as the Generals. Yakubu Gowon argued?

Shouldn't "Nigeria" be Afraid of this Group as He is already afraid of the Boko Boys and her Deadly attacks?
What measures are our leaders taking to ensure that such issues as tribalism, nepotism, indoctrination, religious sentiments and others are curbed from the mindsets of every Nigerian as they stand as the parasites that now plagues our National unity and progress?
