The Hon Peter Odey Under 18 Football Championships Competition Committee deemed it fit to honour Prince Thomas Abi Jr., the Ogoja-born leading social commentator, for his dynamic contributions to the growth of his immediate constituency, Ogoja nation and Cross River State at large.

A Medal of Honour was presented by the Honourable Member representing Ogoja State Constituency in the Cross River State House of Assembly, Hon. Peter Odey, on Saturday 26 March to Prince Abi immediately after the finals of the maiden edition of the Hon. Peter Odey Under 18 Football Championships Competition was conducted at the Ogoja Sports Stadium.

It is on record that a handful of suggestions contained in the numerous write ups, public affairs analysis, etc attributed to Prince Thomas Abi Jr., have influenced the policy approach of the present state administration led by Governor Ben Ayade. A case in point has been the policy trust of the Ben Ayade administration to invest in the industrialisation of Groundnut in the state, and a host of others.

Negroid Haven felicitates with the erudite Prince Thomas Abi Jr.
