Eyo Ekpo visits Odukpani belligerent community, decries CRSG inability to resolve crisis

The Cross River State Governorship Candidate of the Social Democratic Party (SDP, Mr. Eyo Ekpo, has this week paid a visit to the warring communities of  Ekpene and Ediong Idim, all in Odukpani Local Government of the spoke NEGROIDHAVEN has garnered. 
Eyo Ekpo who met with some of the persons affected by the crisis at Obom Itiat community said he was there to console them in this period of grief and asked them to hang on even in this period of grief. 
Ekpo decried the inability of the current government to handle communal disputes and facilitate peaceful resolutions between warring communities across the state.
He further assured the communities that should the SDP be elected into government, his administration will help stop the menace as he has in his team capable hands in tackling the issues. 
Also speaking at the visit, the SDP House of Assembly Candidate, Odukpani State Constituency Mr. Bassey William, sympathized with the displaced communities encouraging them to shun violence and embrace peace that will foster economic growth.
Responding, an elder of the community, Chief Asuquo Okon Eyo said: “this is the very first time that a candidate, individual or party has visited the community after the then former Governor Donald Duke had previously visited.” Chief Asuquo added that even the current government would rather ask the chiefs, elders, and officials of the community to travel down to Calabar for a meeting without even sending government officials to see how bad the damage is”.
The community thanked the SDP team for visiting, saying that they hope the visit by the SDP teams means their winning of the election and the end to the crisis that plague them.
