C/Riverian acknowledged by US government for fight against HIV/AIDS

The Society of Women and Children Living with HIV/AIDS in Nigeria (SOWCHAM) has been chosen out of the 500 Nigerian organisations nominated for (PEPFAR) Presidential Emergency Plan For AIDS Response award by the U.S.A government, the major funders of HIV/AIDS intervention in Africa.
Boki-born Nigerian Mrs Lucy Attah Enyia who hails from Katchuan Irruan is the National Coordinator of the NGO. 
A source close to Enyia explained that the award is to honour men and women that have made momentous contributions in support of HIV/AIDS mitigation in Africa. 
The award ceremony will take place on the 10th June 2019 at NAF Officer’s Mess and Suites, Kado- Abuja. To be presided over by U.S Ambassador, The Honorable W. Stuart Symington.
The U.S. President’s Emergency Plan for AIDS Relief (PEPFAR) is the U.S. government’s response to the global HIV/AIDS epidemic and represents the largest commitment by any nation to address a single disease in history.
