Three issues are trending in Cross River cyberspace and they are the DOPT-gate, IPMAN-gate, CRUTECH-gate NEGROIDHAVEN has garnered.
The DOPT-gate has to do with the killing of a petty trader, Michael on the 21st of June by officials of the Department of Public Transportation, DOPT in the state along Calabar Road. This incident has incited widespread public opprobrium. The Cross River State House of Assembly, CRSHA is expected to look into this as Cross Riverians are calling for the reform or scrapping of the Department. CRSHA is slow on the matter.
IPMAN-gate has to do with the industrial action by the Independent Petroleum Marketers Association of Nigeria, IPMAN in Cross River owing to the internal fisticuffs in the leadership of the state chapter of the state. Yesterday, the state government met with the concerned groups especially the Edet 'Wawawa' Uwana leadership faction and the Lawrence Agim faction. The plea from the government was a three days truce as negotiations continue. Click on: https://www.negroidhaven.org/2019/06/ipman-criver-activates-72-hour-hold-on.html?m=1. But, there are insinuations that the marketters may not abide due to fresh arguments. The House of Assembly is sitting after five days of logjam.
The CRUTECH-Gate has to do with alumni of the University of Calabar, UNICAL and Cross River University of Technology, CRUTECH engaging in a fisticuffs of relevance. The meat of the argument is that CRUTECH graduates are incomparable to UNICAL graduates in terms of quality of education.
