Cross River University of Technology (CRUTECH) was recently renamed University of Cross River State (UNICROSS) as the bill was assented to by Prof. Ben Ayade, the Governor of Cross River State.
The Bill For the Change of Name and Other Related Matters was sponsored By Rt. Hon. Peter Odey, member representing the good people of Ogoja State Constituency who doubles as the Leader of the 9th Cross River State House of Assembly.
According to sources, the change in nomenclature of the great indigenous tertiary institution makes her a conventional University, which provides the opportunity to offer more professional courses like Law, Medicine, Philosophy etc.
