Cross River police deploy 50-member all female tactical squad

The Cross River State Police Command has deployed a fifty-person female tactical team with ICT gadgets, intelligence gathering and combat readiness skills, to the eighteen local government areas of the state .

The State Commissioner of Police, Sikiru Akande made this known while parading 46 suspected criminals arrested by the Command in Calabar.

Akande said the specially trained operatives will be deployed strategically to all nooks and crannies of the state in a bid to reduce crime to its barest minimum.

The state Police Commissioner called on citizens and residents of Cross River to key into the new policing style saying, the combat ready female police officers will be visible on the streets in the days ahead.

He said, the forty-six criminal suspects paraded, which include armed robbers, kidnappers and cultists will be charged to court after investigations have been carried out.
