Scene of conflagration

A line of apartment at No. 14 Atekong Street, State Housing Estate in Calabar metropolis, Monday, was set ablaze this morning NEGROIDHAVEN can report authoritatively. The fire was said to have started between 8AM to 9AM from the first apartment which was at the far end of the compound our correspondence learnt.
As at the time of this report, no casualty or injury has been recorded as most of the occupants were said to be out of the house and had gone to work.
Official reasons for the outbreak is still unknown as even the occupants have no idea; however, gas explosion from gas burners are reported to be suspected to be part of the reason for the rapid spread of the fire.

According to a resident at the scene of the conflagration, Mr Iterim Ntui, ‘3 apartments were said to be engulfed in the fire as the nearby apartments occupants were seen taking out their personal belongings.’
The Cross River State Fire Service men where immediately called to the scene and are still battling the fire as at the time of this report.
